Joseph F. Seger to America - 1864

Joseph came to America in 1864 with his uncle Donatus and his grandparents, Leopold Seger and Eleanora Glasser. Family legend says that the grandparents would not come to America unless they could bring grandson Joseph. Joseph's parents remained in Germany where his mother died in 1868. His father remarried and had several more children including Anna Maria and Sophia who came to America when they were grown.
